What are Dermal Fillers?
Dermal fillers (soft tissue fillers) are used to help rebuild areas of volume loss that occur as a natural part of the aging process. Utilizing a compound called hyaluronic acid, fillers help to soften and smooth skin texture, and restore volume to deeper contours and hallowing in the skin.

The Science Behind the Treatment
Utilizing Restylane, Juvederm, and RHA Revance products, Dr. Riemer customizes an individual treatment plan for each patient to achieve subtle, natural aesthetic results. Hyaluronic acid is the main component of dermal fillers, which is a naturally occurring glycosaminoglycan (a building block of healthy skin and connective tissue). Proper product placement and proportions are key to avoiding unnecessary complications. When properly placed, dermal fillers subtly lift and define hallowed areas, providing balanced definition to the mid and lower face and enhancing the contours of the lips and chin. Restylane® products are created with hyaluronic acid that most closely resembles the body’s natural production, and they use two patented technologies to achieve incredible results: NASHA® and XpresHAn Technology®.
NASHA is designed for precision and structure, providing support for targeted projection and precision while XpresHAn is designed for movement and expression, providing flexible support to follow the face’s natural expressions.
Juvederm® uses a modified form of hyaluronic acid to temporarily restore volume loss in certain areas of the face using proprietary technology called Vycross®.
Vycross® technology cross-links hyaluronic acid molecules to create a smooth and efficiently cross-linked filler and all Vycross® products contain a small quantity of lidocaine to decrease injection-site pain.
RHA® Revance products are designed to adapt to dynamic facial movement for a natural look at rest and in motion using hyaluronic acid that more closely resembles our naturally-produced hyaluronic acid.
Their Preserved Network Technology produces a less-rigidly cross-linked gel designed to adapt to facial dynamics without comprising durability.
What to Expect

Avoid dental cleanings/dental procedures 2 weeks before and after your filler appointment
Your comfort is our priority. Injections feel like a pinch. Many of the restylane products contain numbing to help with discomfort, and topical numbing is available.
Swelling and bruising are normal following treatment. Laser can be used to correct unwanted bruising.
Most patients may resume normal activities immediately after.
Results last up to 6-12 months, depending on which products are used
